About Me

Hello! My name is Nicole Blanco. I am in the second and final year of my Master’s in Teaching degree at Seattle Pacific University. I am seeking my secondary Social Studies and secondary Language Arts endorsement with the hopes of teaching middle school Humanities. Right now, I’m pretty set on teaching middle school, but I’m open to teaching high school down the road.

I am  teaching LA/SS to 8th graders at Hamilton International Middle School in the Wallingford neighborhood of Seattle for my internship. I am excited about this placement for several reasons. I have observed at this school for 60-hours and feel like I have a pretty good feel for its culture. I love it’s strong world-view focus and the fact that its mission is to help prepare students to be citizens of the global community. I am also excited because interning at Hamilton means that I will work in a community that I am familiar with and love. I believe that teachers should be active members in the communities they teach in.
